Move from Cram
Move your Cram sets before 9 November 2026
Cram closes in 13 days, on 9 November 2026.
Cram is retiring: after 9 November 2026 its sets can’t be opened, and nothing is moved anywhere for you. Here’s how to bring each set to Flashcards in about a minute, with all its cards. Use a computer for this; it doesn’t work from a phone.
The quick way: the “Move to Flashcards” button
Drag this button to your bookmarks bar (once):
No bookmarks bar? Show it with Ctrl + Shift + B (Windows) or ⌘ + Shift + B (Mac). Made for Chrome and Edge; recent Firefox and Safari should work too.
Open one of your sets on Cram: the page that lists its cards. If the list only shows part of the set, scroll to the end or click “show all” first.
Click “Move to Flashcards” in your bookmarks bar. A small panel shows the cards it found and their number.
Click “Move … cards”. Flashcards opens in a new tab with your cards. Create a free account (or sign in) and save them as a deck. Then do the next set.
Try it on an example first
This example is laid out like a set page. The button below runs the very same mover on it, so you can see what happens before you try it on Cram.
Spanish greetings · example set · 8 cards
| # | Front | Back |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hola | Hello |
| 2 | Buenos días | Good morning |
| 3 | Buenas tardes | Good afternoon |
| 4 | Buenas noches | Good evening / good night |
| 5 | ¿Cómo estás? | How are you? |
| 6 | Mucho gusto | Nice to meet you |
| 7 | Hasta luego | See you later |
| 8 | Gracias | Thank you |
Other ways
- Copy and paste. On the Cram set page, select the list of cards with the mouse and copy it (Ctrl + C, or ⌘ C). Here, open Import, choose Import from text, paste, and set the delimiter to Tab.
- A file you downloaded from Cram. Open Import and choose the file. CSV and text files work; pick the delimiter the file uses.
- The mover found the wrong cards, or none? In its panel, click Pick the cards myself, then click the front and the back of the first card: it finds every card laid out the same way. Download CSV always works too: import the file here.
What moves, and what doesn’t
- The front and back of every card, line breaks included, and the set’s name.
- Pictures don’t move. The panel tells you how many cards had one; add them again with ✎ Edit cards.
- Your study progress on Cram doesn’t move; it starts fresh here.
- Only move sets you made yourself or have permission to use.
Questions
- Does the button see my Cram password?
- No. It only reads the cards on the page you have open, in your own browser, and passes them to this site in the address of a new tab. Nothing goes anywhere else.
- Is Flashcards free?
- Yes: studying, all four modes, folders, importing and sharing decks. A free account keeps your progress.
- Is this part of Cram?
- No. Flashcards is an independent site, not affiliated with Cram.com.
- Can my students study a deck without an account?
- Yes. Make the deck public (✎ Edit cards → Deck details) and send them its link. With a free account their progress is saved.
